FREE PATTERNS

All our patterns, with the exception of the original Our Boy Llyr pattern, have been created by the wonderful makers within this community and are free.

The original Our Boy Llyr pattern is where Knitformentalhealth began. I made these wrist warmers to support Llyr’s friend Owain, in raising funds for mental health charities locally. This is a commercial pattern by Monica Russel, from ‘Head to Toe Winter Knits,’ for which we were kindly given permission to use.

I was then asked by a postman’s wife, to create a pattern and make a wrist warmer, which was plainer and more suitable for a man to wear to work.

The Postman’s glove was born. Then followed requests for a ladies pattern. From these two basic patterns, with the skill and imagination of the people in this community, a host of patterns were created.
